Two development projects for two islands have been given to MTCC by the government. They are R. Innamaadhoo Coastal Protection Project and Hdh. Neykurendhoo Harbor Development Project.
Hdh. Neykurendhoo Harbor Development Project was handed to MTCC to be completed in 365 days for 47.6 million MVR.
This project includes harbor dredging; construction of a 290-meter breakwater, a 166-meter channel breakwater, a 212-meter scoring apron, and a 212-meter seawall; installation of 19 street lamps; building an access platform and installation of a 1859 square meter pavement.
The R. Innamaadhoo Coastal Protection Project was handed to MTCC to be completed in 220 days for 15.6 million MVR.
This project includes the construction of 8 45-meter t-groins to protect the northern coast of the island. Ministry of National Planning, Housing, and Infrastructure stated that with this project, Innamaadhoo’s coastal erosion issue would be fixed.
