Ex-president and leader of the opposition party PPM, Abdulla Yameen, has promised that he will create 5000 jobs in Addu City if he gets elected, for the Presidency.

In his current visit to Addu City, speaking in Feydhoo today, Yameen vowed to create 5000 jobs just in Addu within the first three years of his term, if he gets elected. Yameen said the jobs would be created through various economic projects to end the poverty among youth in Addu.

"Just for the citizens of Addu City working in this city. I am not talking about the Addu people living in Male' city. Just for this city, in the first three years, we will create 5000 jobs," said Yameen.

Furthermore, Yameen said that if he gets elected for a second term, the initial priority would be clearing debt, and after that, the priority will be improving the conditions of the youth.

Yameen stated that the most important thing to do to improve the conditions of the youth would be providing them with shelter, work, and sources of income.

Speaking further, Yameen said the support for the PPM is increasing but accused the Election Commission of stealing its members. President Yameen also said although some parties have many members, they do not dare to contest the elections.

"Why are other parties too scared to compete in an election? There are many members registered for namesake. But you know there is no support for them," Yameen said.

"The most important thing in politics is sincerity."

When Yameen arrived at Addu today, a large number of people came to greet him, and they gave him a warm welcome.
