The Ministry of Tourism has announced that a split stay is allowed at all types of tourist accommodation facilities in the Maldives.

Ministry of Tourism has lifted the previous restriction on split stays in tourist accommodation facilities following a social media announcement on Twitter on Friday. Hence, Tourists can now split their stay between the resort, hotels, guest houses, and liveaboard boats, with prior approval as per split-stay procedure/ guideline by the Ministry of Tourism.



The Maldives reopened its borders on 15th July, and since then, Maldives has been welcoming an increasing number of tourists day by day. So far, 119 liveaboards and 29 guest houses have reopened their businesses through the special permits provided by the Ministry of Tourism.

Meanwhile, the recently opened guesthouse, Kaani Palm beach, has welcomed 38 tourists on Friday, which is the most number of tourist arrivals in one day for the guest house since its opening on 15th October. Kaani Palm beach, located in K. Maafushi, is so far the largest guest house opened in the Maldives.

Recent records from the Ministry of Tourism show that since the border reopening on 15th July, 31,801 tourists have arrived in the Maldives till 21st October.
