A group of men armed hijacked a fishing boat in the L. Atoll sea on Sunday night.
Referring to the information given by the boat crew to the local media, the group of men forced themself onboard the fishing boat, for not processing the payment of the boat under the agreement made. The group of men was sent by the owner of the boat, who sold the fishing boat for 7 million Rufiyaa, for MP Jabir.
As per the Maldives Police Service, they have received a report of a group of people who traveled on a speedboat forcing their way on a fishing boat in the Vadinolhu Sea around 11:55 pm on Sunday and although the group forced their way on the boat armed, no violence took place.
An investigation is continued regarding the incident but so far no one has been arrested.
