Economic Minister Fayyaz Ismail has stated that the Thilafushi Master Plan will solve the land shortage faced by businessmen.

Fayyaz said this while speaking at the launch ceremony of the Thilafushi Master Plan, which was created to address the problems in the industrial sector.

Speaking at the ceremony, Fayyaz said that the land shortage faced by businessmen would be solved with this master plan. And that the implementation of the master plan will start very soon.

Fayyaz said the master plan would also provide the opportunity for land privatization. In addition, the opportunity to rent land at cheaper prices will also be available.

“This will include ready-made storage facilities, working spaces, offices and all these things. Thilafushi will become a complete industrial hub in the Male' area,” said Fayyaz.

According to HDC, it was decided to dredge and develop 152 hectares of land in Thilafushi for commercial and industrial purposes, at the same level of quality as in Hulhumale'. When completed, Thilafushi will have public plazas, public green spaces, active waterfronts, flexible development and become a sustainable city.

HDC has also stated that in addition to modern facilities, roads in Thilafushi will be developed at the highest quality.

HDC is already doing a lot of work with the government to build a safe environment for the residents of Male' area. HDC has stated that they have been giving a high priority to providing the most modern and complete facilities and infrastructure for many industries in Maldives.
