The Male' City Council has decided to impose a fine of MVR 1000 per day for posters and banners posted or hung in public places of the city without permission.

The City Council has issued a statement today saying that those who wish to post or hang posters and banners in the streets and public places of the city on behalf of the candidates contesting the 2023 presidential election now have the opportunity to apply for permission.

The Council stated that it is prohibited to display banners and advertisements without the council's approval. And that those who commit such acts will be fined up to MVR 1000 per day.

The Male' City Council said that it will remove illegal items from the streets and destroy them. And that the Council will not be responsible for any damage caused by this.
