Minister of Home Affairs and Adhaalath Party President Imran Abdulla has stated that President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's decision to allow the opposition to hold a rally in an area where he was holding a campaign rally, shows his patience and courage.

Imran was referring to PPM's protest in the area last night during a campaign rally of President Solih at the MDP headquarters. The government did not interfere with the opposition rally.

Imran said today that a President's decision to allow an opposition rally to be held across the road with complete freedom while having his own rally shows he has great patience and courage.

"Shows how able he is to work with equal opportunities given to others," said Imran.

Imran said that even PPM members would believe that the opposition would not be able to hold a rally in an area "with the scent" of a rally attended by President Yameen.

Even though there was an encounter between the two major parties in Henveiru last night, there was no violence. And the government did not interfere with the activities of the opposition.

However, at last night's rally, PPM leaders, in addition to criticizing the government, made false accusations directly against President Solih using obscene language unbecoming of political leaders.
