President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih receives a warm welcome from Fuvahmulah as he arrives to the island for MDP presidential primary campaign.
President Saleh arrived in Fuvahmulah late afternoon. The President was welcomed at the Fuvahmah airport by Vice President Faisal Naseem.
In addition to Vice President Faisal Naseem, Fuvahmulah city mayor Ismail Rafeeq, city council members and President Solih's supporters amongst members of MDP joined at the airport to receive President Solih. He was also welcomed by many Fuvahmulah island residents at the airport arrival.
President Solih is scheduled to open his official campaign booth in Fuvahmulah tonight. The President is also scheduled to meet with MDP members in Fuvahmulah and conduct door-to-door campaign activities.
The MDP presidential primary is being contested by President Solih and MDP President and Parliament Speaker Mohammed Nasheed.
The MDP presidential primary is scheduled to be held on January 28.
