Four candidates are confirmed to be contesting on MDP ticket for the by-election in the Guraidhoo constituency seat.
The by-election for the Parliament seat for Guraidhoo constituency seat is scheduled to be held on the 15th of next month. The seat became vacant following the death of MP Ibrahim Riza on 23rd February.
The MDP opened the opportunity to nominate those who wish to contest the by-election primary till 2:00 pm today. Four candidates submitted their nominations for the primary, confirmed ruling party MDP.
These includes, Mohamed Musthafa - K. Maafushi, Salman Rasheed - K. Maafushi, Ibrahim Shaaz - K. Malé, Abdullah Saeed - K. Guraidhoo.
The MDP primary to select a candidate will be held on the 11th of this month.
