The Health Emergency Operation Centre (HEOC) has confirmed two additional positive cases of Covid-19 from Kandima Maldives Resort.
HEOC said that the additional two cases are reported from staff members of Kandima Maldives.
HEOC has also stated that more test samples have been collected for Covid-19 on Sunday night, following the 17 positive cases reported from the resort on Sunday. Samples have been taken from 12 staff and 21 departure guests from the resort on Sunday night. In addition to this, 149 samples have been taken from the resort as well.
The initial case was reported, from Kandima on Friday night, where a staff member showed positive to Covid-19 when he had passed away. Since then, Kandima has been under monitoring, restricting any transportation in and out of the resort.
Following the initial case, a medical team from the Dhaalu Atoll Hospital is at the resort, taking more samples from the resort and contact tracing.
