Multiple charges in a sexual abuse case have been filed against actor Yunan and his wife at Hulhumale’ Magistrate Court.
Yunan and his wife were arrested for sexually abusing a child from their family. They were both arrested on the 4th of October. Following their arrest and case investigation, the Prosecutor General has filed a case against sexual abuse at Hulhumale’ Magistrate Court, with a total of 14 charges on them.
Charges against Yunan include exhibiting sexual act to a child, causing a child to engage in sexual activity, engaging in sexual activity in the presence of the child, engaging in sexual activity with a child from the family, possession of pornographic material, all while being in a position of trust with the victim.
Charges against Yunan's wife Rihula include engaging in sexual activity with a child, engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child, possession of pornographic material, all while being in a position of trust with the victim.
While a total of nine charges are pressed against Yunan, five charges are pressed against Rihula. If found guilty, Yunan will face 110 to 113 years in prison, and Rihula will face 50 to 61 years in prison.
