Spokesperson of the President's Office, Miuvaan Mohamed, has stated that the participation of Jumhooree Party in the presidential election will not be a big “challenge” for President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

Miuvaan said this in response to questions from journalists on whether the decision of the ruling coalition member JP to contest the presidential election will cause difficulties for the President.

Replying to questions from reporters, Miuvaan said that there is great confidence in President Solih winning the election.

"Adhaalath and MDA have formed a coalition with the President. Therefore they will win this election with great certainty," said Miuvaan.

Miuvaan said that JP's decision to contest the presidential election is not a big problem for the President and that it will not prevent him from winning the election.

"It is not a challenge for the President. I am sure he will win the election with those who want to join him," Miuvaan said.

Miuvaan did not respond directly to questions about the dismissal of JP members in political positions. He said President Solih would start talks with JP's leadership once the party nominates a candidate.

At today's press conference, Miuvaan noted that it would be difficult to continue with two presidential candidates in a government.
