Kandima Maldives has confirmed additional 27 people positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday.
With the additional 27 cases, Kandima Maldives now has 46 people positive for Covid-19. This is also the highest number of positive cases recorded from a resort in the Maldives.
So far, 176 test samples have been taken from Kandima. From all the samples taken, 126 samples reported negative, and results are pending from four samples.
Health Emergency Operation Centre (HEOC) has stated that the tourists currently residing at the resort have to present a negative PCR test before departure.
The initial case was reported from Kandima last Friday night, where a staff member showed positive to Covid-19 when he had passed away. Since then, Kandima has been under monitoring, restricting any transportation in and out of the resort.
