The Vice leader of the People's National Congress party, Ibrahim Sujau was arrested, During a public rally held by the opposition coalition last night.
The opposition political parties coalition held the public rally in front of the Progressive Party of the Maldives office. The rally was held under the name ‘Badi buraasfathi’ to celebrate the victory day of Maldives.
Meanwhile, the authorities did not permit the opposition political party coalition to have a public rally even upon request, rather the Health Protection Agency (HPA) suggested having the meeting virtually.
Following the arrest of Sujau, police stated that he was arrested, for violating HPA guidelines even after advising multiple times.
