Nasheed advises everyone who is going for picnics not to destroy natural habitats.

Speaking at the recent parliament sitting, Speaker of the parliament Mohamed Nasheed called to look after the birds while on picnics to sandbanks.

“Take a look at the birds and observe the natural habitats when you go to a sandbank and avoid taking shells by the beaches. Swim along with the birds while you enjoy the sandbank,” said Nasheed.

Nasheed highlighted that during the pandemic lockdown, nature has given time and space for birds to nest around in most sandbanks. Which has shown many many species of birds present in sandbanks.

Nasheed has been very vocal in addressing climate change issues and environmental issues.
