Tourism Minister Dr. Abdulla Mausoom, who is in a Jumhooree Party slot of the government, has given a message that suggests that he is preparing for a big decision.

While JP leader Qasim Ibrahim has decided to contest the upcoming presidential election, certain people in the government who were JP members have resigned from the party.

But none of the JP Ministers in President Solih's cabinet have resigned from the party, nor have they resigned from their government posts. There are three Ministers in the JP slot. They are Transport Minister Aishath Nahula, Fisheries Minister Dr. Hussain Rasheed Hassan and Tourism Minister Dr. Abdulla Mausoom.

However, Dr. Mausoom gave a big message today. He has posted a photo of himself with President Solih as his Facebook cover photo. In addition, he had left the official WhatsApp group of JP two days ago.

Therefore, it is believed that this is a message given to show that he is thinking of leaving the party and supporting President Solih in the election.

In their resignation letters, JP resignees in government positions stated that the reason they resigned was because they intended to support President Solih in the upcoming election.

However, critics say they are resigning to defend their government positions while believing they will retain them in the next term.
