A new date has been given for the completion of the Maldives National Defence Force's "SIFCO Hiya" flats under construction in Hulhumale' Phase 1.
SIFCO said that China's The 23rd Metallurgical Construction Group Co. Ltd. will complete the defense force flats in Hulhumale' Phase 1 in July this year. And that installation of water meters and fire pipes is currently underway.
SIFCO said the work is progressing on schedule and the finalization of the agreements has already started.
SIFCO has previously stated that the three MNDF towers being constructed in Hulhumale' will have 330 three-bedroom flats and 20 penthouses. And that in the allocation of penthouses, priority will be given to senior officers.
The foundation stone of the MNDF flats was laid on November 26, 2014 during President Waheed's administration, with the construction planned to be finished in 18 months. After the project was on a hiatus for a long period, it had been resumed with special priority given to it by the President and Commander-in-Chief of MNDF, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
