Jumhooree Party Leader Qasim Ibrahim has stated today that those who truly deserve the progress the country has made so far are the workers.

Qasim said this in a message to workers on the occasion of the International Workers' Day.

Qasim, who is also the Member of Parliament for Maamigili constituency, said the world has been built and different parts of the world have achieved new heights of infrastructural development because of workers. He said that individual countries have developed and progressed due to the will and hard work of their workers.

"Individual countries have developed and progressed because of the will and hard work of their workers, their zeal and enthusiasm. Their thinking and energy. As such, those who truly deserve the progress even this country has made so far are the Maldivian workers," said Qasim, one of Maldives' most prominent businessmen and chairman of the Villa Group, which has a large number of employees.

In addition, Qasim said the progress made by the country has been achieved thanks to fishermen, tourism workers, farmers, construction workers, and in addition to those who work in other industries, those Maldivian workers who work in the government and private offices, in education, in goods and services and various businesses.

Qasim concluded his message by extending his congratulations and best wishes to the workers of the country.
