Director General of Transition (DGT) Abdul Raheem Abdullah has emphasized that the cabinet appointments will be made solely by Dr. Mohammed Muizzu and discouraged the creation of any appointment list.

During a press conference held on behalf of the President-elect's interim office, Director General of Transition Abdul Raheem Abdullah, stated that the final decisions regarding cabinet members would be made by Dr. Mohammed Muizzu. As a result, there is no need for anyone to submit a list of preferred candidates to him.

Abdullah also mentioned that he was not aware of any specific list sent by former president Yameen, expressing the importance of consulting with relevant individuals before finalizing the cabinet composition.

He further emphasized that the responsibility for forming the cabinet lies solely with the President-elect, and no external lists or influences should be taken into consideration.

In addition, Abdullah remarked that the people had entrusted the government to the PNC candidate, Dr. Muizzu, for a five-year term based on his promises. Hence, it is crucial for the cabinet to consist of individuals whom he trusts to fulfill these commitments.

"I firmly believe that the people have handed over power to Dr. Muizzu for the next five years. They put their faith in the PNC candidate, Dr. Mohammed Muizzu, after he made promises to them. It is essential that the President's cabinet has complete confidence in their leader," Abdullah concluded.
