The Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC) has announced the opening of a new Hub Office in the Republic of Maldives. This strategic move aims to enhance business and investment relationships between the Maldives and the Commonwealth's 56 member nations.

Mohamed Ali Janah, the Principal Advisor to the President of the Republic of Maldives, will head the Hub Office as CWEIC’s Country Chair. With over three decades of entrepreneurial and development experience in the Maldives and the Middle East, Mr. Janah is well-equipped to promote CWEIC and the Commonwealth to the Maldivian government and the local business community. He currently serves as Chairman of Hotels and Resorts Construction and Group Chairman of Hotels and Resorts Investment Maldives (HARIM), a diversified conglomerate involved in construction technology, marine products, and investments, which is a Strategic Partner of CWEIC.

The new Hub Office will act as a central point for Commonwealth businesses interested in exploring investment, trade, and business opportunities in the Maldives. It will facilitate introductions to government officials and the Maldivian private sector, fostering increased economic collaboration.

In addition, the Hub Office will support Maldivian businesses seeking opportunities within the Commonwealth. Through this office, local enterprises can become CWEIC Strategic Partners, join event delegations, and participate in various activities across the Commonwealth.
