Ahmed Samah Rasheed, CEO and Managing Director of the Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO), has been dismissed from his position, effective immediately.
The announcement was made by the Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) this evening.
The PCB, which oversees appointments and dismissals of senior positions in government-owned companies, confirmed that Samah has been removed from both his roles as CEO and Director of the Board of MIFCO. This decision follows his earlier suspension in March due to an investigation into 12 cases against him by the PCB. Although his suspension was lifted late last month, the reasons for his sudden dismissal remain unclear. The PCB has not provided additional comments regarding the matter.
At the time of his dismissal, Samah was in Thailand, representing MIFCO at the 18th Info Fish World Tuna Conference and Exhibition.
