President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has congratulated the Parliament members of the 20th People's Majlis who took the oath of office today.
The President posted the congratulatory message on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.
In his post, the President expressed hopes that the 20th People’s Majlis will set the highest example of accountability and trustworthiness and be the most beneficial parliament in the parliamentary history of the Maldives.
The 20th Parliament of Maldives was sworn in today during a special session at the Parliament House. Chief Justice Ahmed Muhthasim Adnan administered the oaths to the 93 newly elected members.
The majority party in this parliament is the PNC with 75 seats. The Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) holds the minority in this session with 12 seats.
