President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu tonight announced at a rally held at the Progressive National Congress (PNC) that the government is committed to recovering funds lost in the MMPRC scam during former President Yameen Abdul Gayoom's tenure and holding those responsible accountable.

Muizzu highlighted the gravity of the MMPRC scandal, describing it as one of the most significant cases of corruption in recent history under Yameen's administration. He assured the public that the government would spare no effort in identifying the perpetrators of the theft and taking appropriate legal action against them.

The President emphasized the government's determination to pursue all necessary measures to recover the misappropriated funds. He stressed the importance of conducting fair investigations into any involvement in the theft, underlining the need for justice on behalf of the Maldivian people whose funds were misused.

Muizzu reiterated that the funds in question belong to the people and affirmed the government's responsibility to safeguard public resources, ensuring transparency and accountability in governance.
