MDP President Abdullah Shahid has defended Islamic Minister Dr. Mohamed Shaheem against accusations stemming from a controversial video circulating on social media platform "X." The video, which claims to show inappropriate behavior by Dr. Shaheem, has been condemned by Shahid as an attempt at malicious defamation.

In his response, Shahid criticized the production and dissemination of baseless videos aimed at damaging reputations. “It is uncivilized to create and spread unfounded stories to harm the reputation and dignity of individuals,” Shahid said. He emphasized that everyone deserves respect and dignity, and using such tactics for political or personal gain is unacceptable.

Shahid also highlighted the broader implications of such actions, asserting that they undermine societal integrity. “When individuals destroy the fabric of society for their own benefit, it is imperative that we speak out against it,” he added.
