Abdul Raheem has cast doubt on the authenticity of the Finifenma launch boat explosion, suggesting it may have been staged as part of a dramatic narrative orchestrated by former President Yameen Abdul Gayoom. In an exclusive interview with SanguTV, Abdul Raheem voiced concerns over the legitimacy of the incident, which occurred after Yameen’s return from Hajj.

Abdul Raheem's remarks come amid allegations made during party rallies held by Yameen’s PNF.

He pointed out that Captain Ahmed Fayaz Ali Riza, known as Papa, was imprisoned for two years in connection with the explosion, yet remains closely associated with Yameen, raising questions about the incident's credibility.

During the interview, Abdul Raheem described seeing a man in a blue T-shirt near the main bridge at the time of the explosion. He suggested that Yameen had implied this individual’s possible involvement in the incident.

Abdul Raheem also criticized Hussain Waheed, the former Commissioner of Police under Yameen, for his reported failure to provide intelligence reports for six months, despite his ongoing proximity to Yameen’s party.

Given these observations and Yameen’s connections, Raheem now questions whether the Finifenma launch boat explosion was a genuine event or a fabricated incident.
