Islamic Minister Dr. Abdullah Shaheem Ali Said has emphasized that advocacy for Palestine should adhere strictly to Islamic norms and respect for others.

His comments follow recent incidents where two women were arrested for allegedly harassing a Saudi ambassador and obstructing police while protesting against Israeli actions in Palestine.

Dr. Shaheem’s remarks came in support of religious scholar Sheikh Ilyas Hussein, who stated that while every Muslim has the right to advocate for Palestinian rights, such advocacy must be conducted respectfully and within the bounds of Islamic principles. Sheikh Ilyas stressed the importance of exercising this right while respecting others' rights.

Minister Shaheem praised Sheikh Ilyas's statement, describing it as both touching and positive. He called for a unified effort to support Palestine, focusing on raising awareness among Muslims about Palestinian prisoners and rejecting Israeli actions on an Islamic basis.

"Now is the time for everyone to unite for the cause of Palestine," Dr. Shaheem said. "The key is to ensure that our support for Palestine is expressed in a manner consistent with our Islamic values and principles."
