The Ministry of Construction has announced that 63 percent of the 100 housing units being developed in L. Gan have been completed.
In a recent statement, the ministry highlighted that the project, commissioned by former President Solih's government and undertaken by SJ Construction, has made significant progress. The total cost of the initiative is estimated at MVR 84.4 million and aims to address the housing shortage in rural areas.
Each housing unit will cover 1,000 square feet and include three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a living room, a kitchen, a dining room, a laundry area, and a store room. Additionally, the units will feature lighting to ensure a comfortable living environment for residents.
This project is part of the government's broader efforts to improve housing conditions and enhance the quality of life on islands.
