President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has emphasized the strong relationship between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia, founded on the noble principles of Islam.

The President made these remarks in a message of congratulations to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, and the people of Saudi Arabia on the occasion of the 94th Saudi National Day.

In his message, President Muizzu noted that the relationship between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia is built on contemporary friendship and shared Islamic values, expressing confidence that these ties will continue to strengthen in the years to come.



At a ceremony held at Villa Nautica in the Maldives, Vice President Hussain Mohammed Latheef also extended gratitude to Saudi Arabia for its continuous support, particularly through the Saudi Fund for Development. He also acknowledged the efforts of Saudi Ambassador Matriq Abdul Ajalain Al-Dosari and the embassy team in promoting Islamic unity and enhancing bilateral cooperation.

Diplomatic relations between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia were officially established on March 17, 1981.
