President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has reiterated the Government's dedication to transparency and accountability, affirming that these principles are key to achieving good governance. Speaking at the official Republic Day ceremony held at Dharubaaruge, the President outlined recent efforts to promote open access to information for the public.

President Muizzu detailed the Government's strides in providing information through the 'Citizens Voice' portal, noting that approximately 840 questions have been submitted by the public, with only 22 still awaiting responses. He explained that this platform is one way his administration works to stay connected with citizens' concerns and address them promptly.

The President also reported that 90 percent of Right to Information (RTI) requests have been processed. He emphasized that regular press conferences with ministers and officials have enhanced transparency, bringing a new level of openness to government operations. Additionally, he introduced a new website, "Sarukaaru," which provides daily updates on the Government’s activities, giving the public continuous insight into its actions and progress.

Reflecting on the value of transparency, the President referenced his father’s book, *Dhaulathuge Verinnaai Masooliyath adhi Kiyaman Vumuge Mafhoom*, which discusses responsibility and accountability in governance. President Muizzu emphasized that, in a democratic society, even the most powerful figures are accountable to the public, just as journalists are held accountable. He underlined the importance of honesty and integrity, particularly in an Islamic society, as pillars for a prosperous and well-governed nation.

The President affirmed that transparency and accountability are at the heart of his administration’s mission, ensuring that all government actions serve the people’s best interests.
