The Maldives has officially banned vapes as of today, following the recent approval of the Tobacco Control Act Amendment Bill by the President last Wednesday.
The new legislation introduces significant changes to the Tobacco Control Act, implementing a nationwide ban on the importation, sale, and use of vapes. Additionally, the legal minimum age for purchasing tobacco products is now set at 21 years.
The vape ban will be strictly enforced, with steep penalties for violators, and further expansion of enforcement measures is scheduled to begin on December 15.
