President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has unveiled plans to convert the Muliaage vehicle garage on Lily Magu into the "Zuvaanunge Third Space," a dedicated center for youth empowerment and community engagement.

The initiative aims to address the shortage of venues for youth activities, focusing on skill development and fostering social connections.

The decision, approved during Sunday’s Cabinet meeting, was proposed by the Minister of Construction and Infrastructure and received support from various ministers. The transformation will prioritize safety due to the site's proximity to schools and busy traffic zones. A comprehensive traffic management plan will accompany the project.

The Zuvaanunge Third Space is set to offer a variety of activities, including skill-building workshops, virtual reality training, community art projects, culinary events, and mental health programs. The center will also feature a dedicated space for interactive workshops and initiatives promoting well-being, making it a hub for creativity and personal development.

Designed as an eco-friendly facility, the space will include a cafeteria offering healthy, locally inspired dishes and opportunities for small and medium food vendors to showcase their products. Dr. Muizzu emphasized the importance of such spaces in nurturing Maldivian youth, providing them with opportunities for growth and community engagement.

This initiative reflects the Government’s commitment to youth welfare and the creation of inclusive spaces for education, recreation, and social interaction, aligning with broader goals to empower the nation’s future leaders.
