Over 40 schools in Delhi were evacuated on Monday following bomb threats received via email, demanding a ransom of $30,000. The threats prompted emergency searches by police and sent parents rushing to collect their children.

Authorities revealed that two schools first received the emails late Sunday night, with the sender claiming multiple bombs had been planted on their premises. By Monday morning, similar messages had reached dozens of other schools, triggering a wave of evacuations.

Parents were seen gathering at school gates as police teams conducted thorough inspections of the affected institutions. No suspicious items or actual explosives were discovered during the searches.

This incident adds to a growing trend of hoax bomb threats targeting public facilities in India. According to government data, between January and mid-November this year, airports and airlines alone faced 999 such threats. Twelve individuals were arrested in connection with these hoaxes during the same period.

In a similar case earlier this year, over 50 schools in Delhi and Noida received bomb threats that were later deemed false alarms. Despite the frequency of these hoaxes, they continue to cause significant disruptions and concerns.

Delhi police have yet to release an official statement regarding the latest incident, but investigations are underway to identify the source of the emails and ensure the safety of students and staff.
