The Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Abdulla Khaleel, embarked on an official visit to the Sultanate of Oman today. The visit, scheduled from December 10 to 13, 2024, is at the invitation of His Excellency Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi, Oman’s Foreign Minister.

During the visit, Minister Dr. Khaleel will engage in high-level discussions with Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr to review the longstanding bilateral ties between the Maldives and Oman. The talks will focus on strengthening these relations and exploring new opportunities for cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

The Minister is also expected to meet with senior Omani officials to discuss ways to enhance collaboration in key sectors, including trade and investment. These meetings aim to foster deeper economic ties between the two countries.

This visit reaffirms the Maldives’ commitment to nurturing strong and mutually beneficial relations with Oman, reflecting the shared priorities of the two nations.

Minister Dr. Khaleel is accompanied by a delegation comprising Dr. Hala Hameed, Secretary for Bilateral Affairs, Ms. Fathimath Naeema, Senior Under Secretary, and Mr. Mohamed Shujau, Assistant Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
