Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Abdulla Khaleel paid a courtesy call on His Highness Sayyed Asaad bin Tariq Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and Special Representative of His Majesty the Sultan, as part of his official visit to Oman.
During the meeting, Minister Dr. Khaleel conveyed warm greetings from President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and the Maldivian people to the leadership and citizens of Oman. In response, His Highness extended greetings from His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said to President Muizzu and the people of the Maldives. Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi was also present at the meeting.
His Highness Sayyed Asaad welcomed Minister Dr. Khaleel and reaffirmed Oman’s commitment to further strengthening the longstanding bilateral relationship.
Minister Dr. Khaleel expressed gratitude for Oman’s continued support to the Maldives, highlighting its assistance during critical times. He emphasized the importance of enhancing economic cooperation, particularly in trade, investment, tourism, and fisheries, to elevate the partnership to greater heights.
The Maldivian delegation accompanying Minister Dr. Khaleel included Dr. Hala Hameed, Secretary, Bilateral; Ms. Fathimath Naeema, Senior Under Secretary; and Mr. Mohamed Shujau, Assistant Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
