President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has unveiled plans to commence the construction of 100 housing units in ADh. Mahibadhoo next year. The announcement was made during his meeting with Mahibadhoo residents as part of his ongoing tour of islands in South Ari Atoll.

The President confirmed that the project, supported by the Government-approved housing budget, will begin on existing available land in Mahibadhoo. He also assured residents that plans for the reclamation and development of Maafaru Lagoon—under Mahibadhoo’s jurisdiction—would be carried out in line with their preferences.

Highlighting the broader regional impact, President Muizzu emphasized the importance of developing Mahibadhoo as an urban center, noting that the Maafaru Lagoon project would serve as a model for genuine urban development.

The President reiterated the Government’s commitment to addressing local concerns over the next four years, focusing on infrastructure improvements and tailored development projects. He assured residents that the administration's policies prioritize meaningful progress that reflects the needs and aspirations of the community.
