Chief Spokesperson at the President's Office, Heena Waleed assured the public that no rights of landowners will be infringed upon as a result of ongoing investigations into the Housing Development Corporation (HDC).

In a post on X, Heena Waleed, who also serves as Presidential Spokesperson, confirmed that HDC Managing Director Ibrahim Fazul Rasheed, along with all board members except Chairman Ahmed Naseef, have been suspended pending the completion of the investigation.

Heena emphasized that the rights of landowners, under the landowner scheme, would be fully protected and assured the public that they would not be violated.

The suspension of the HDC board follows a police investigation into the alleged illegal allocation of land to individuals outside of the landowner scheme. The investigation continues, with authorities working to clarify the matter.

The Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) is overseeing the suspension of HDC officials until a decision is reached regarding the investigation.
