The Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has lodged complaints with the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) and the police, urging an investigation into alleged criminal offenses related to the recruitment of individuals into the ruling People's National Congress (PNC).

In a statement on X, the MDP accused the PNC of stealing personal information and using fraudulent forms to register individuals as party members without their consent. The party has also requested the Prosecutor General's Office to direct the ACC and police to conduct thorough investigations.

Additionally, the MDP has written to the Elections Commission, requesting it to halt the processing of all forms submitted by the PNC. The party has also called for the cancellation of any processed forms and a re-evaluation of their authenticity.
