President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has described the R. Vaadhoo Council as an exemplary model of local governance.
During his visit to Raa Atoll today, President Muizzu met with the Vaadhoo Council, where he commended their efforts in serving the community. Local Government Minister Adam Shareef Umar, who accompanied the President, also commended the council and the residents of Vaadhoo on behalf of the government.
The visit marks the beginning of the President’s three-day official tour of Raa Atoll, during which he plans to visit 11 islands. The President’s Office stated that he will meet with local councils, women’s development committees, and heads of village institutions to discuss development priorities and address the most pressing concerns of the people.
The President’s engagements aim to strengthen collaboration with local leaders and ensure that government initiatives align with the needs of the atoll's residents.
