President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced the government’s ambitious goal to air-condition all schools across the Maldives by September 2025.

Speaking to the residents of R. Hulhudhuffaaru, the President emphasized the importance of creating comfortable learning environments, particularly in the nation’s hotter regions.

Highlighting the urgency of the initiative, President Dr. Muizzu stated that the government has launched a nationwide project aimed at cooling all schools, with classrooms being prioritized under the "Cool School" initiative. He assured the public that the effort includes a commitment to using sustainable energy sources, with all village schools slated to be air-conditioned using solar power.

The President emphasized that the government aims to complete the project by September and expects the entire country to be covered within six to eight months.

The "Cool School" project, introduced in June 2024, is part of the administration’s broader strategy to enhance educational infrastructure and ensure students can learn in a conducive environment. The initiative aligns with the government’s pledge to prioritize sustainability while addressing pressing needs in the education sector.

The President reaffirmed his commitment to delivering on this promise, reiterating the importance of making schools comfortable and supportive spaces for students and teachers alike.
