On the occasion of India's 76th Republic Day, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu extended warm felicitations to Indian President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, reaffirming the Maldives' strong partnership with India.

In separate letters to the leaders, President Muizzu conveyed the warmest greetings and sincere good wishes from the Government and people of the Maldives to India’s government and its citizens. He expressed his deep appreciation for the enduring partnership between the two nations, which has been built on mutual trust, respect, and understanding.

President Muizzu emphasized that the Maldives-India relationship has withstood the test of time, and reaffirmed the Maldives’ commitment to further strengthening this strategic partnership. He highlighted the importance of working closely with India to address common challenges on both bilateral and international levels.

The President also wished for the continued good health and well-being of both President Murmu and Prime Minister Modi, as well as peace, prosperity, and progress for the people of India.

The Maldives and India established diplomatic relations on July 26, 1965, and the two countries have maintained strong ties ever since.

In addition to the official letters, President Muizzu also shared a message on his official ‘X’ account, extending his well-wishes to India on its Republic Day, underscoring the warm and enduring relationship between the two nations.
