The government is preparing to distribute canned fish as part of this year's Ramadan gift.
A case of fish cans will be given to every household in the country, as announced by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu last November.
The State Trading Organization (STO) confirmed that the distribution of the fish bottles will take place from the 20th to the 28th of this month, with the Male' City Council overseeing the distribution process in the capital.
To ensure a smooth process, the distribution will be conducted by checking the electricity meter number of each household. Additionally, visitors will be required to provide their ID card and contact phone number during the collection.
The distribution points for the canned fish are as follows:
In Male': Male City Council Public Services Section and MIFCO Office Compound
In Villimale': Villimale' Council Office
In Hulhumale Phase-1: Umar Zahir Building
In Hulhumale Phase-2: Hiya Flat Tower 10 Youth Centre
STO said canned fish cases will be issued from 2:30 pm to 6:00 pm and from 8:30 pm to 11:00 pm daily during the distribution period. This initiative is part of the government’s efforts to provide support to the community during the holy month of Ramadan.
