The number of tourists visiting the Maldives this year has exceeded 334,000, marking an 8.2 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

According to the latest statistics from the Ministry of Tourism, a total of 334,698 tourists arrived in the country as of yesterday, surpassing the 309,411 visitors recorded during the same period in 2023.

Currently, the Maldives is welcoming an average of 7,276 tourists per day. The government has set a target of attracting 2.3 million visitors by the end of the year.

The top five source markets for tourist arrivals so far include China with 53,222 visitors, followed by Russia (32,721), the United Kingdom (31,925), Italy (30,159), and Germany (19,751).
