Imaduddin School is set to install metal detectors to identify vape devices, as concerns grow over the use of e-cigarettes among students.

Speaking to Malaysian newspaper The Star, Principal Dr. Ali Mamdouh highlighted that vaping poses a serious threat to schools. He noted that teachers often struggle to recognize vape devices, making detection challenging.

“To address this issue, we have decided to install metal detectors in the school,” Dr. Mamdouh stated.

The move follows the Maldives’ ban on the use, sale, distribution, and import of vaping devices, which came into effect last December.
