Maldives has been named Liverpool FC’s official tourist destination partner under an agreement with the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC).
According to MMPRC, the partnership is expected to bring over 100,000 tourists to the Maldives this year, generating more than $100 million in tourism revenue.
As part of the agreement, advertisements promoting the Maldives will be displayed during Liverpool’s Premier League matches. The partnership will officially launch during Liverpool’s home match against Everton on February 24.
The collaboration will also include various initiatives to boost tourism, such as the establishment of a Liverpool academy in the Maldives and efforts to strengthen sports tourism.
Liverpool FC was the most-watched team in the Premier League last season, with 471 million viewers tuning in to their matches worldwide.
