President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has extended his heartfelt condolences to the Prime Minister of Malaysia, His Excellency Anwar Ibrahim, following the passing of former Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.
In his message, President Muizzu expressed deep sorrow over the loss, describing the late Abdullah Badawi as a respected statesman who devoted his life to public service and the progress of Malaysia. He praised Badawi’s unwavering commitment to moderation, national unity, and good governance, as well as his contributions to Malaysia’s economic advancement.
The President also conveyed the solidarity of the Government and people of the Maldives with Malaysia during this time of national mourning. He extended sincere sympathies to the Malaysian government, its people, and especially to the family of the late Prime Minister.
