Deputy Speaker of Parliament and Dhiggaru MP Ahmed Nazim has described the newly inaugurated Muli Airport as a golden opportunity for the people of Mulaku Atoll, stating it marks the beginning of a new chapter in the region’s development.

Speaking at the airport’s official opening ceremony on Tuesday, Nazim said the project will revitalize the atoll's economy and improve accessibility, particularly during medical emergencies. He also highlighted the airport’s potential to boost tourism by enabling smoother travel to nearby resorts.

“This is the end of a long wait for the people of Muli,” Nazim said, calling the airport a long-awaited promise finally fulfilled.

Developed by the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), the project was executed at a cost of over MVR 221 million. Nazim expressed his appreciation to MTCC for successfully completing the project.
