Broadcasting Commission (Broadcom) Secretary General Mariam Zeeniya has been suspended for three days, reportedly over failure to cooperate with the commission’s decisions and for showing disrespect toward its members.
The suspension was enforced today following internal concerns raised within the commission.
Meanwhile, a petition signed by 15 Broadcom employees has been submitted to Parliament, highlighting serious concerns about the conduct of certain commission members. Allegations in the petition include surveillance of staff and instances of personal harassment.
The petition also raises issues related to the non-payment of overtime allowances and urges Parliament to intervene and provide a resolution to the ongoing internal disputes.
