Maldives and Italy have held talks aimed at enhancing collaboration in the health sector. The discussions took place during a meeting between Maldives Health Minister Abdullah Nazim and Italian Health Minister Professor Orazio Scilacci on the sidelines of the 78th World Health Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland.
According to the Health Ministry, the meeting focused on bilateral cooperation areas including thalassemia services, telemedicine, and capacity building. Both ministers also explored opportunities for resource-sharing to strengthen health services.
As part of the World Health Assembly, Minister Nazim is engaging with health ministers from various countries to deepen ties in multiple health fields. Earlier, Maldives signed an agreement with Cyprus to seek assistance in thalassemia care.
