The President’s Office, in collaboration with the British High Commission in Maldives, has successfully concluded a two-day national security tabletop exercise, “Amaan Asseyri 2025,” aimed at testing and strengthening the country’s National Terrorism Response Plan (NTRP).

Held from May 26–27 at Crossroads Maldives, the exercise brought together senior policymakers and officials from 11 key ministries and agencies. The initiative focused on assessing national response capabilities and improving inter-agency coordination in the face of terrorism-related emergencies.

Under President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s leadership, the government has prioritized public safety and national sovereignty. “Amaan Asseyri 2025” served as a critical step in operationalizing these priorities by reinforcing preparedness and decision-making processes.

The exercise marks a significant milestone in Maldives–UK security cooperation and reflects the shared commitment to building a safer, more resilient Maldives through the structured exchange of expertise and support.
