Vice President Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister of Tajikistan, His Excellency Kokhir Rasulzoda, during his official visit to the country for the High-Level International Conference on Glacier Preservation.

Acknowledging the Maldives' extreme vulnerability to climate change and rising sea levels, both sides expressed a shared commitment to enhancing cooperation on environmental resilience.
The talks also focused on strengthening agricultural collaboration and boosting tourism ties. Tajikistan, recognizing the Maldives’ leadership in global tourism, expressed interest in learning from its experiences to develop its own tourism sector.
